Where is the countdown stored?
In the link. The name and the moment are encoded after the #, which browsers never send to a server. Delete the link and the countdown is gone.
What about time zones?
You set the moment in one zone and it is stored as an exact instant, so a friend in another city sees the same seconds left. The page prints the date in the zone you chose.
Can I add it to my calendar?
Yes. The page offers a one-hour event at the moment, with the countdown link in the description. Google, Apple, and Outlook all open it.
