How the grading works
Green is the right letter in the right spot, yellow is in the word somewhere else, gray is not in the word. A doubled letter only lights as many times as the answer has it.

Does the word have to be real?
No. Names, nicknames, and inside jokes are the point. Any 3 to 8 letters work, and guesses only have to be the right length.
Where is the word stored?
Nowhere. It is encoded in the part of the link after the #, which browsers never send to a server. Delete the link and the puzzle is gone.
Can several friends play the same word?
Yes. Everyone who opens the link plays their own board. In the SparkChat app the same game shows everyone’s boards side by side at the end.
The group version keeps everyone’s boards
In SparkChat, Inside Word is a card in the group chat: everyone guesses privately, the colors are public, and the reveal puts every board on one wall.
